This new 112,000 s.f. 400 Bed Student Residence Hall for the State University of New York in Farmingdale, New York is a four-story building on a 12.5 acre site. This state-of-the-art facility consists of spacious accommodations, laundry provisions, and dining areas. The superstructure consists of concrete foundations, auto-clave block skeleton, prestressed-precast concrete plank flooring with topping slabs. The exterior facade is a stucco finish, casement aluminum windows and a curtain wall system with storefronts. The mechanical design for the dormitory building consists of individual room heating and cooling, fed by a steam generated hot water system, air handler units for public areas, emergency generator, fire alarm, security and CCTV systems. The building has wireless technology, a fire sprinkler system with fire pump and complete plumbing systems.
