Description:
New four-story 90,000 s.f. 300 Bed Residence Hall includes a book store, Starbucks, student lounges, laundry area and general common areas.

This building is located on the State University of New York Campus in Purchase, NY. The building superstructure consists of concrete foundations, structural steel skeleton, prestressed-precast concrete plank flooring with a structural concrete floor topping. The exterior façade of the building has a brick veneer on light gauge metal framing, single hung aluminum windows, storefront and aluminum curtain wall at the three intersections of the buildings, metal roof trusses and a shingled roof. The mechanical design for the dormitory building consist of individual room heating and cooling units, four boilers with booster pumps, an exterior mounted chiller, emergency generator, fire alarm, security and CCTV systems, a fire sprinkler system with fire pump and a complete plumbing system. The building has two hydraulic elevators and three staircases. The interior finishes consist of ceramic tile bathrooms, VCT floors and painted drywall partitions. The ceiling has a combination of acoustical ceiling tile, acoustical-sprayed ceilings in the dorm rooms and gypsum ceiling in the bathrooms. The sitework included new storm, sewer, water and gas systems, two large detention ponds for storm water management, an asphalt paved parking lot, concrete sidewalks and illuminated asphalt path through the campus.
