John D. Floyd Elementary School
Spring Hill, Florida
Owner: School Board of Hernando County
John D. Floyd Elementary School was constructed under a Construction Management Services agreement with a fixed GMP. The work included the construction of a new two-story 28,900 s.f. modular classroom, a single story 10,200 s.f. modular classroom, 7,100 s.f. addition to the existing cafeteria using pre-fabricated tilt up wall panels and the renovation of the existing 2,700 s.f. cafeteria. The new classrooms and cafeteria will accommodate approximately 800 additional students.
The project site was in the middle of an active Elementary School, which served Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Due to the ages of the students, a considerable amount of time was taken when the sequence and scheduling of project was established. Designated routes of ingress and egress were established which reduced risk to the students, faculty and staff.
