A state-of-the-art 100,000-sf. facility, constructed on the Stony Brook campus, includes a new and expanded research and educational programs and for incubator companies. The building has three stories plus a partial basement and two mechanical penthouses. The building superstructure consists of cast in place concrete foundations and floor slabs with a steel frame. The exterior façade of the building has a mix of masonry, curtain wall, insulated metal panels and pre-patina copper siding. The roof is a flat built-up system with a few small areas of metal standing seam. The mechanical design for the building consists of boilers for hot water generation, air handlers, exterior condensing units, emergency generator, fire alarm, security and CCTV systems. The ceiling has a combination of acoustical ceiling tile, wood plank ceilings, and gypsum ceilings.
