MacDill AFB, Dining Facility
MacDill AFB, Florida
Owner: U. S. Army Corps of Engineers
This project consisted of the construction of a new 17,582 s.f. steel frame and masonry structure with a standing seam metal roof. The procurement and installation of all commercial kitchen appliances for the new 9,700 s.f. kitchen was closely coordinated with the future occupants and numerous Owner initiated design changes were addressed during the submittal process. Construction of the new facility was a prerequisite to the abatement and demolition of the existing 15,085 s.f. dining hall. The existing dining facility adjacent to the site remained operational until the new facility was ready for occupancy. Extensive precautions were implemented to insure the safety and continued operation of the existing dining hall.
