Tarpon Springs Public Safety Facility
Tarpon Springs, Florida
Owner: City of Tarpon Springs
This project entailed the construction of a new 38,000 s.f., two-story tilt-wall concrete and steel Public Safety Building for the City of Tarpon Springs. The 8 in. thick exterior concrete walls were fabricated on site and lifted into position in accordance with the direction of the Tilt-Up System Engineer. The balance of the structure was comprised of conventional steel columns, bar joists, and decking. This building is constructed in accordance to the most stringent Hurricane Impact requirements to allow its use as an Emergency Code Operations Center. Interior walls were fabricated using both concrete block and metal stud partitions. A significant amount of interior specialties associated with the anticipated Police and Fire Department use, were incorporated into all phases of design and construction. New utilities, paving, drainage systems, landscaping, fencing, and gates were installed on the approximately 5 acre site.
