Ronkonkoma, New York
Owner: Federal Aviation Administration
This project consisted of the construction of a new FAA Airport Traffic Control Tower and Administrative Base Building Facility at Long Island Macarthur Airport. Construction included a 129 ft. (above ground level) structural precast concrete panel control tower with a 500 s.f. steel framed control cab, as well as an 8,300 s.f. one-story administrative building constructed with insulated-concrete-form walls and brick veneer. Both the Tower and the Base Building are supported by augured cast-in-place concrete piles situated on a 1.15 acre site.
