Tampa International Airport, Florida
Owner: Hillsborough County Aviation Authority
This project entailed the renovation of the Transfer Level of the Landside Terminal Building of the Tampa International Airport including the public areas, center and south retail areas, and the public concourse to the Marriott Hotel. The renovation included the interior demolition of jointly occupied areas, new masonry, structural and miscellaneous steel, ornamental metals, custom fabricated glass enclosures with architectural canopies, veneer plaster work, custom millwork, custom stainless steel fabrications, and typical finishes. The renovation also included a major mechanical upgrade with the replacement of ten air handlers with associated ductwork. All mechanical work was performed while maintaining a maximum of 80 degrees Fahrenheit in this tropical climate facility. As such, an intricate temporary air system was developed and utilized. A completely new fire sprinkler and fire alarm system was installed on the Transfer Level and Ticket Level of the Airport while the areas were occupied with both airport personnel and passengers.
